About Us

Founding

Founded in 2010, the Alzheimer's All-Star Basketball Classic was founded by Gordon Thomas in memory of his father Detective John Edward Thomas Sr. who died from the Alzheimer's Disease.

Company Overview

Gordon Thomas is an avid supporter in the fight against Alzheimer's disease. Gordon was touched deeply by his experience in dealing with his fathers dementia. Gordon was an all-star basketball player at St. John's University and was subsequently drafted to the New York Knicks. After losing his father he had a dream to combine a cause he is passionate about with his first love - Basketball! The result was an amazing event which raised a substantial donation to fight Alzheimer's and created awareness among our up and coming basketball all-stars and their classmates.

The Alzheimer's Basketball All-Star Classic has now grown to being one of the best fundraising competitions in our area featuring Boy and Girl All-Star Games and Competitions with the best High School Players in Nassau and Suffolk Counties. Consisting of two seperate signature events, the All-Star Classic and the Slam Dunk & 3-Point Shootout, spread throught the year, we look to bring awareness of the disease to not only our audience, but to our participants and their families as well.
